Invited to ProjectFile – Now what

When you have been Invited to a project, you will receive an email containing your login information and information about the project, including a link to the project.

  • First time using Projectfile - It is the best practice to do the following  prior to logging into the system. 
    • Install Projectdox Components -  Click the Install ProjectDox Components link and run the program and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
    • Add ProjectFile.net to your trusted sites -- Download  AllowProjectFile  and click run when asked to do so, this will automatically add projectfile.net to your list of Internet Explorer trusted sites.
    • Allow ProjectFile.net to open popups in Internet Explorer
  • At the login screen, enter your email address and the temporary password provided in the Invite email into the login screen.   
  • ProjectFile uses pop-up windows (browser windows with no toolbars).  If you login but no ProjectFile window appears, or you get an error message * you probably have a pop-up blocker installed that is preventing the main project window from opening.  You need to disable pop-up blocking for the ProjectFile site.
  • If this is the first time you have accessed the ProjectFile site, the user Profile screen will display.  You can change your password and enter your user information (required fields are displayed in colour).  Passwords are encrypted and you are prompted for a question and answer password hint (incase you forget your password). You can access this screen again at any time by clicking the Profile button in the main ProjectFile button bar.  Click Save when you are finished.
  • When you have successfully logged into ProjectFile, the Projects screen will display. Any projects for which you have access will display in the list. In this screen you can access project files, view project information, view topics and notes associated with a project, send TeamMail to other members of the project, view the project status and project owner, and select to receive email notification of updates to the projects you choose.
